MLM Training Sessions Vs Weekly Opportunity Meetings
November 19th, 2008I don’t know about you, but I want results! I am in the Network Marketing business because of the potential it has for financial freedom and an independent lifestyle. Like many others in the MLM business, I got involved and was made to believe attending weekly opportunity meetings and inviting people to them was what the business is all about. As I was ignorant to the real nitty gritties of the business, I listened to everything my sponsor taught me, and I would run with the vision, as the saying goes, “Ignorance on fire beats brilliance on ice.” That’ I what just did. I must say I did not do badly at inviting at all, because I could get people to meetings, and in some cases get them to even sign up. However, this did not produce the results I had desired, it didn’t bring me that financial freedom and the independent lifestyle I had hoped for.
Because I had fully understood the concept of Network Marketing, I didn’t quit the game, but I slowed down the inviting as I had invited enough but very few if any turned up at times. I see this happen today, as I attend presentation meetings, I find myself listening to the same old presentation I know inside out, sitting with the very old familiar faces! Honestly, one tends to get “meeting burn-out.”
Regardless of how many people will be in a room, the truth of the matter is, out of those the majority will be distributors/members and only two or three are new guests. Now I am afraid I have to say it but it’s pathetic. I have seen things at some of these meetings. I sometimes manage to invite guests, and because some of these members guests don’t turn up most of the time, they then become hungry and just see how they pester my guests! I am sorry but it really is not on, they want to “poach” other people’s guests, it’s downright ridiculous. I just had to say this, I think some things just have to be said sometimes, and a if you are reading this and you where
contemplating joining a program, please do not let this put you off, this is so you will better be prepared, and in fact you don’t have to go through all this if you read on and learn some of the few things I am going to say.
Right!, with that out of the way, we can now move on to what you can do and how to do it to eliminate the above. I think I have got so much to say about this industry, but this may not be the very best forum for it as it may just bore you. However, what I have now done was to keep learning more about the industry which I think is the key, developing new skills, sales, marketing, IT, copywriting, web designing etc. etc., by the way you don’t necessarily have to, depending on your situation and preference, but for me, I found its the key to succeed in this business. Like many others out there I used to think its as simple as it is given to you, which it is suppose to be if I may be honest, but people just complicate it. The business works and works well, it’s just the people that don’t.
You really have to take responsibility and get to work just as you would if you where working for someone else. Learn and yes listen to your sponsors and upline, be teachable and coachable as they say, but what you do should be a product of your own making. The Internet has made things a whole lot easier that you can eliminate so many frustrations and enjoy the process of setting yourself free financially.
Like I said I think I will have just to stop here, but if you would like more insights and help with some of the skills I mentioned above, just click here
